Kanpur Receives Government Assistance To Improve Air Quality

Raghav

The Ministry of Environment, Forests, and Climate Change is going to provide Rs 255.12 crore to five Uttar Pradesh cities: Agra, Kanpur, Varanasi, Ghaziabad, and Meerut, in an effort to improve both the environment and the quality of life. This funding will be used to fund the essential initiatives and raise public awareness of the need to enhance these cities' air quality.

The Modi government's efforts to raise living standards in cities with a million or more residents are part of the reason behind the Centre's assistance to the cities of Uttar Pradesh.

The Indian government has been resolutely striving to ensure cleanliness and minimise pollution in Indian cities for the last nine years. Under the direction of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh's cities have made notable progress in this continuous endeavour to reduce air pollution, meet sustainable development objectives, and protect the state's abundant biodiversity.

The goal is to improve the general quality of life in cities with a population of one million or more while simultaneously reducing the level of PM10 to improve the air quality.
