Mrs. Saumya Khurana, the bossy lady at the renowned jewellery brand in Kanpur, Kays Jewellers is quite adept at work. But does being a mother make it challenging for her to manage both work and children? We at Kanpur Wants, on the occasion of Mother's Day decided to dive deep into this!

Q.  Would you rather be called a ‘working mother’ or a working parent considering we don’t label men as ‘working dads’?

A. I pride in being a mother while at the same time being financially independent. I would prefer to stick to the title of a working mother.

Q.  Are there any skills you picked up from being a mother that have translated into becoming a better businesswoman?

 A. Motherhood has taught me so much. But one of the key skills I learnt is multitasking and the art of patience.

Q. What do you find most challenging about being a mompreneur? 

 A. Giving quality time and being mindfully present is very important to being a mother as well as an entrepreneur and finding the right balance is challenging.

Q. What is the best parenting advice to give to mothers in business ?

 A. We all working mothers should always remember that we are doing the best at home and at work and we should not feel guilty about doing either.

Q. What qualities of yours would you like your children to imbibe?

A. Work ethic, complete integrity and a positive mindset is what I would like my child to imbibe.
