The "Cyber Commando Training Program," a six-month residential course designed to provide participants with advanced cybersecurity abilities, has been launched by C3iHub at IIT Kanpur to improve the country's cybersecurity readiness. The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA)'s Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) and the Union Home Ministry are working together on this project.

In order to address the growing cybersecurity challenges, the program seeks to construct Central Police Organisations (CPOs) and trained cyber commandos throughout India. These professionals will be essential in defending digital infrastructures and handling cyberattacks.

According to the press release, the program's inauguration is an important step towards strengthening India's cybersecurity capabilities since it will provide professionals with the knowledge they need to handle the intricate and constantly changing cyber scene.

This comprehensive training provides hands-on experience across multiple cybersecurity domains to 38 officials from Central and State police agencies. These applicants will be able to handle security risks, react to situations, and put strong defences in place in a variety of crucial industries thanks to the training.

Professor Sandeep K Shukla, Programme Director of C3iHub at IIT Kanpur, expressed his enthusiasm for hosting the program, stating, "This training programme is not just about imparting knowledge; it is about building a resilient and proactive cybersecurity framework for India. These professionals will serve in critical roles, from conducting security assessments to responding to cyber incidents, ensuring that our institutions are well-protected."
