The good news for Kanpur residents is that the metro will soon make it feasible to go from IIT Kanpur to Kanpur Railway Station. The metro currently has nine stations and runs from IIT Kanpur to Motijheel. Five more underground metro stations are currently nearing completion, and the metro is anticipated to begin service by the end of the year.
These stations' fares have also been set. The 15-kilometre trip from IIT Kanpur to Kanpur Central Railway Station would cost passengers ₹ 40. This trip will take roughly 25 minutes by metro, and there will be 14 stations along the way. When travelling by metro, passengers who use their NCMC (smart) card will receive an extra 10% off their ticket price.
A 15-kilometre metro route will be accessible in Kanpur starting on January 7. Passengers will be greatly relieved by this, particularly those who travel from Kalyanpur to the city. The metro service was only available from IIT Kanpur to Motijheel, which resulted in a limited passenger capacity. However, with the metro's development plan up to Kanpur railway station, roughly 20 lakh people will now be able to use it.
In addition to improving traffic convenience, Kanpur's Metro expansion will increase the city's connection, which will save residents time and make travel easier.
