An additional expressway network is soon to be implemented in Uttar Pradesh. There will be less travel time and easier communication thanks to the 380-kilometre expressway that connects Ghaziabad and Kanpur. After it is finished, the typical 8 hour journey between Kanpur and Ghaziabad will just take 5 hours. This expressway is being constructed from Ghaziabad to Kanpur and has been named as ‘Ghaziabad-Kanpur Expressway.’

This expressway will connect nine of Uttar Pradesh's largest districts, including Ghaziabad, Hapur, Bulandshahr, Aligarh, Kasganj, Farrukhabad, Kannauj, Unnao, and Kanpur. The start of this expressway was declared by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).

It will reduce the distance between Ghaziabad and Kanpur. Additionally, it will ease the flow of products and services and lessen traffic congestion. According to reports, these locations would also see the establishment of industrial centres following the construction of this expressway.

The highway, which is a greenfield project, is initially intended to have four lanes with the possibility of six lanes later on. Its potential to eventually link to Jewar Airport in Noida is one of its distinctive qualities, which will improve Kanpur's connection even more.

The expressway's construction is currently underway, with completion expected in 2026. It will significantly increase accessibility from Delhi-NCR to Kanpur and other Uttar Pradesh cities once it is operational.
