If you're a pet parent, you have probably encountered a few difficulties when attempting to get a rail pass for your animal companion. Pet owners are now allowed to bring their dogs or cats anywhere they travel thanks to a new regulation from the Ministry of Railways. The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) will enable pet owners to purchase tickets online.
Pet owners have long trusted rail travel because it is dependable and comfortable, unlike driving, which can be tiresome, and flying, which can be quite uncomfortable for animals.
Rules For Pet Parents While Booking A Train Ticket For Your Furry Animal:
1. The ministry has proposed an online booking service for dogs in AC-1 class of trains. As part of the idea, the TTEs would be able to reserve pet spaces on board. According to the government, passengers will find it more convenient and comfortable to travel with pets as a result.
2. Some restrictions on online animal ticket bookings have been maintained by the Railways. The ticket for the traveller needs to be confirmed. There will be no reimbursement for the animal ticket if the traveller cancels. Only the passenger's ticket will be refunded in the event that the train is postponed or cancelled for longer than three hours. The animal ticket price will not be reimbursed.
3. One can carry puppies in a basket in any accommodation class.
4. According to the most recent announcement from the Southern and Eastern Railways, pups are permitted in all train compartments in covered baskets. It does not, however, specify the age at which a dog is deemed a puppy or if the puppies may be removed from the basket while being transported.
